About Kate

“The camera is an instrument that teaches people how to see without a camera.”
Dorothea Lange

When I was 10 years old, my father  a man not generally known for his benevolence  gave me my first camera.  That gift changed my life.  Though the camera was so old and inexpensive that it had gone unappreciated by the bargain-hunters at my father’s yard sale, it could not have been more precious in my eyes.  Never again did I look at anything without seeing it through a lens  actual or imaginary.

Through my photography, I strive to express the essence of each person, place, performance, and event in order to “capture a moment that’s gone forever, impossible to reproduce.”*

To see how I can help capture the moments of your life, work, or art through my photography, please feel free to call me at 917-628-8911 or to reach me through this contact form.
